Just when their luck seems to have run out, Skull, Bones and Deadpan are rescued by a shadowy figure. It is none other than Santa Muerte, the Mexican folk goddess, who safely leads the children back to their home universe. As they travel between the worlds, the goddess tells the children She is deeply impressed with them, for they have shown great bravery. She also enjoys the fact that all three of them are dressed just like Her. So Santa Muerte blesses them by making them honorary "Reapers" and giving them superpowers they will only be able to use during Halloween. With these powers, the goddess will help Skull, Bones and Deadpan defeat the Bucca Dhu once and for all. She then returns the kids to the Old Hackmore Place in their home world, where the Bucca Dhu is already planning to attack its next victim.
