Every Halloween, the Wyrdham Historical Society hosts a ceremonial ritual for the entire town. This ritual is held at a sacred oak tree down at the town square. Known as "Hobb's Tree," this ancient oak reportedly belongs to Robin Goodfellow, a Lord of the Fae who is also called "the Pookah," "Puck," "the Hobgoblin," and "Hobb." According to local legend, the witches who founded Wyrdham made a pact with Goodfellow, wherein he would assure a bountiful harvest for the town's farmers each year. In exchange, the farmers must offer a small percentage of their produce as sacrifices to Hobb's Tree every Halloween. But this year, everyone in Wyrdham is traumatized to learn that someone has desecrated the old oak by carving a cross and the name "Jesus Christ" on its trunk. Someone in the community has chosen to directly attack Wyrdham's unique religion and culture—but who?
